Description
The IP2315 is an integrated MOS and input fast-charging protocol efficient synchronous buck converter charging IC. It has an input voltage range of 5V to 12V and supports fast charging protocols like Type-C PD, Huawei FCP, Samsung AFC, and MTK PE+1.1/2.0, allowing the adapter to request 9V or 12V to reduce charging time. The input charging current can be set via the ISET pin, and with an input of 9V/2A, the maximum charging current at the battery side can be 3.7V/4.8A. The IP2315 is compatible with low-current adapters by automatically adjusting the charging current if the adapter’s load capacity is insufficient, ensuring it doesn’t overload the adapter. The output battery voltage can be set via the VSET pin, supporting lithium batteries with voltages of 4.2V, 4.35V, 4.4V, or 4.5V. Operating at a switching frequency of 500kHz, it achieves high efficiency, reaching up to 93% at VIN=12V, BAT=3.7V, and IBAT=4.5A. The device supports 1 or 2 LEDs for status indication, with automatic detection of the number of connected LEDs. It also includes charging NTC temperature protection, input over-voltage protection, and IC over-temperature protection.
